For the ultimate bespoke training event designed around the participants’ emergent needs, you need a space that is equally versatile.
Bespoke is an over-used and abused term. Of course, being able to have a size and colour of your choice is to some degree ‘bespoking’ a product, but it is not the same as having that product designed to your exacting needs and taste. At Logovisual we relish the chance to design from scratch. Having done so many times, we have struck upon some winning concepts which we have subsequently been happy to offer with the size/colour type of bespoking too!
We’ve asked for bespoke training in the past, and what’s been offered is an off-the-peg course, run at a time and place of our choosing – not exactly what we were hoping for!
Aspire Leadership do the ‘design from scratch’ type of bespoke training. For example, you might want a one-day presentation skills course for 5 execs. Of course, there’s some pretext and expectations established in advance, but the actual course starts with the trainer getting to know the participants, where they are at and what they need to get from the course. The design of the day unfolds from there – in real time, on the day, bespoke to those 5 people.
It takes a special trainer to work in this way. They are more than just training, and because of this the people Aspire Leadership take on need to have huge depth. According to Co-Founder and Director Liz McKechnie, they need to have backgrounds that encompass real business, creativity and psychology, and of course be great with people. They need to bring original thinking to the party – not just re-presenting models or frameworks, they need to be able to apply them for people. They have to come with that openness and curiosity and work from where the client is at.
The idea is that the trainer creates and adapts the space they need for their event, whether that’s a leadership programme for 15 or a presentation skills course for 5. When you change the environment, you create energy.
Its therefore imperative that the furniture is easy to move and can be arranged and rearranged around the emerging needs of the event. A screen, or a whiteboard can be placed centre stage when it needs to be the focus or made incidental when its otherwise a distraction. Tables can be brought in if a work surface is needed but made non-existent if they are obstructing interaction.
The Aspire Leadership brand is distinctive. It reflects their ethos and values, and their training environment is an extension of their brand. By inference, the coffee cups and the furniture are all very much part of this.
“Design is so important.” says Liz, “We designed our website to attract those clients who will resonate with what we do, our values and our approach. It won’t appeal to everyone and that’s OK. We don’t do ads, it’s all organic search and word of mouth.
“If we had designed our own furniture from scratch it wouldn’t have been any different from what we got from Logovisual. The colours and the quality and the aesthetic fit perfectly in our spaces, and being a B-Corp, we went out of our way to find a solution with the right environmental credentials too”
Aspire Leadership run soft skills training courses and developmental workshops for corporate clients from their training facilities at Staple Inn, off Holborn in the heart of London, UK
