LVT is a visual facilitation methodology that uses simple tools to help groups get better results more quickly, making better use of resources.

It brings people together quickly and easily, changing the level of thinking and accelerating the generation of successful outcomes with shared ownership.

Like oil in a machine, it smooths the way, reduces friction and improves the process.

It taps into our latent capacity to learn and appeals to all learning styles by using different intelligences – touch and feel, spatial, visual and auditory.

The five stages of the process are:

Focus, Gather, Organise, Integrate & Realise!

What use is that for me?

At the most fundamental level, LVT provides a means of making visible all the thoughts and ideas that can otherwise add up to complexity and confusion. The process of making these things visible can relieve pressure and uncertainty in itself! Once visible, and when all those thoughts and ideas can be moved around and made sense of, further benefits can be had.

LVT encourages full participation and contribution from all participants. LVT’s intuitive five-stage process uses simple tools to help people think effectively together. Making thoughts visible and tangible frees people from pressure and confusion so they can rapidly achieve high-quality results.

The simple tools can be MagNotes (colourful dry-wipe shapes) used on whiteboards, Post-it hexagons or even ordinary Post it notes stuck to a wall, or pieces of card on a table. Software can be used on an individual or one-to-one basis, helping capture work in progress and also enabling more people to participate.

Where does LVT add value?

People need to be able to think together in many situations, from very simple things like writing a report or making a presentation to complex problem analysis and solution generation. For instance, to tackle change, to clarify common purpose, to come up with creative ideas leading to innovation, to articulate shared visions, to develop strategies and so on. Situations such as team development, mergers of departments or companies, engaging people in cultural changes, all benefit from the key advantages of LVT.

What are those advantages?

  • Tap healthy diversity by giving everyone a voice
  • Access a wider range of information by casting a wide net
  • Gain inclusivity by providing a ‘level playing field’
  • Get engagement because it is easy to participate
  • Harness creativity by manipulating patterns and structures of meaning
  • Get ownership because outcomes are mutually developed and shared
  • Communicate clearly because all ideas are well structured

Logovisual have previously supplied whiteboard panels for our London office, so when we needed whiteboards for a room at our head office we got in touch. The end result looks good – many thanks.
